UFC 82

February 7, 2008

Anderson Silva was said to be unbeatable after defeating his last 6 opponents, 5 KO’s and 1 submission. After beating Rich Franklin twice and the Middleweight Division looking very thin. Everyone was asking for Dan Henderson to move down and challenge Anderson”The Spider” Silva for the UFC Middleweight Titel. Henderson was wanting to stay at Light Heavyweight, he just went 5 rounds with Rampage Jackson, Franklin lost to Silva for the 2nd time. The UFC went begging for Henderson to drop and challenge Silva for the Middleweight Title. The news first was broken by Mr. Sunshine On his post UFC 78 Show. Now it’s on!! The Former Pride Middleweight Champion Dan Henderson against The Current UFC Champion Anderson Silva.

I’m a big Dan Henderson fan, he will scrap with anyone!! Love his style! I’m rooting for Henderson in this one. I can’t wait!

For the rest of the card see below:

Heath Herring vs. Cheick Kongo

Chris Leben vs. Alessio Sakara

Yushin Okami vs. Evan Tanner

Jon Fitch vs. Chris Wilson

Arlovski vs. Jake O’Brien

Luke Cummo vs. Luigi Fioravanti

Dustin Hazelett vs. Josh Koscheck

David Bielkheden vs. Diego Sanchez

Jorge Gurgel vs. John Halverson

This card is full of names, but one can argue these are one sided matchups.

I’m excited to see all of these fighters!

Tanner after a few years off and some personal issues, I can’t wait to see him back in the Octagon, and he is coming back against a tough SOB in Okami!!

I got Banned from Sherdog.com!!

November 18, 2007

GameFace702 was banned today from Sherdog.com. Why? Cause they said I was promoting a Radio Station!!

I live in Las Vegas,  Nevada and my favorite Sports talk radio show in las vegas is:

http://www.foxsportsradio1460.com/home.php

With Mr Sunshine, Steve Colfield!

he covers a lot of MMA and does a really good job on his interviews getting fighters on before and after their fights. So for UFC 78 he went down to Newark, NJ to cover the fight. Well he had breaking news! He announced:

Dan Henderson  VS Anderson Silva

So I figure the Fellow Sherdoggers would be interested this was announced. So I posted the link to Mr Sunshine’s Blog. Well Minutes later I was Banned From posting on Sherdog. The reason I was promoting a Radio Station! My return date said, “NEVER”.

Hilarious! Sherdog is not the only MMA Source out there for MMA! So this is what I have to say to the administrators at Sherdog.com.

With MMA Blowing up all over the country here are a few websites where you can get your info.

www.mmajunkie.com - breaking news, announces possible rumors and has many articles

www.taggradio.com - Fighter Frank Trigg, Gorgeous George, and Goze have a daily radio show. They reported about Fedor not signing with the UFC, also said David Terrell was out of UFC 78, so get some good info.

www.mmaweekly.com - Probably one of the most reliable sources for rumors on upcoming fights, also has a radio show and gets fighter interview daily, also does a play by play of most events.

www.Bloodyelbow.com - Luke Thomas a respected MMA guy that knows his stuff

www.mmafighting.com

www.thefightnetwork.com

www.mmanews.com

www.mrsunshinewhow.wordpress.com

On the national Level Yahoo is the leading Website for MMA with Kevin Iole doing their reporting (some say he gets exclusive info from Dana) but not far behind are MSN and CBSSportsline.

Hope this helps with your MMA FIX!

PS there was another Website but I got banned from them so they don’t deserve to be on here.

UFC 78 Validation

November 15, 2007

MAIN CARD

Michael Bisping vs. Rashad Evans

  • Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva
  • Joe Doerksen vs. Ed Herman
  • Ryo Chonan vs. Karo Parisyan
  • Frankie Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher

PRELIMINARY CARD

  • Thiago Alves vs. Chris Lytle
  • Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt
  • Marcus Aurelio vs. Luke Caudillo
  • Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory

My Prediction for the Main event is Evans by TKO!

But from a betting aspect of the fight I will NOT lay -280!

As an underdog bettor the only fights worthy of a bet, would be:

Ryo Chonan +250 vs Karo – Ryo is not called the Pirahana for nothing. He is on of the men to give A. Silva his last lost when they both fought in Pride. I’m not saying Karo will not win this fight but at +250 it’s worth a bet.

Frankie Edgar even vs Spencer Fisher – This fight has been looked at as expierence vs youth. Frankie Edgar reminds me a lot of Fisher but with better wrestling. One problem Fisher had was with Grapplers, when he fought Hermes Franca he was put on his back a lot. than he fought Sam stout a stiker he had the advantage. If Edgar takes him down I see him submitting Fisher, if this fight goes to the ground I see Fisher by TKO. This is why the odds are so close.

Maybe a small parlay on these underdogs.

Tamdan McCrory +215 vs Akihiro Gono

Chris Lytle +150 vs Thiago Alves

Joe Doerkson +120 vs Ed Herman

*I’m not a professional gambler this is just an opinion.
