College Basketball Plays for 2/6/2008

February 6, 2008
With the Big Game between North Carolina Vs. Duke,  I believe the biggest rivalry game in College basketball, I’m going to stay away from making a play on it and just enjoy watching this game! Here are my top plays today!

Hofstra +5.5 @ Wil & Mary Hofstra has covered 6 of the last 7 all of which they have been the favorites. Hofstra has beaten them 5 str8 @ William & Mary, so they know how to win there. Also the road team in this matchup is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings. All the trends point to bet Hofstra, but they are a different team this year while W&M has been surging of late. W&M is 3-2ATS at home this year. I expect a close game and a possibel win by Hofstra.

Texas +3/ML I’m going with the better offensive team in this one with the scoring attack of Augustine and Abrams and Co. They should be able to go into Norman and get the win. Texas is 8-3 ATS in their last meetings w/Okl. Okl 4-4 ATS at home this year. and covers shows them with a 8-21-2 ATS against the Big 12 in their last 31 games ouch!!

UNLV +3.5/ML I live in Las Vegas and have followed this team and they are for real! They have beaten Utah the last two trips to Salt Lake in both of those wins winning decisively 70-57 & 71-59. They have been with some confidence as of late especially Wink Adams this kid can take over a game. They crushed NM anbd BYU at home and pulled off wins against SDST, and TCU on the road in their last four games. They are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games the lone loss coming to Wyoming as a 16 point favorite.

Tulane +7 Why did this line already move one point? Because UTEP play Memphis to the wire @ Memphis. Now they come home and play a Tulane team that has won 5 in a row, they are 4-3 on true road games. Tualne is 3-1 on the road in Conf Play and UTEP is 4-0 at home in Conf play. I will take the points with the streaking team.

Bradley -6 This team has come together at the right time they are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last five games, as SMS is on their way down they are 1-4 SU and 0-5 ATS. These teams did play back on 1/2/08 and SMS won 91-80, since than you can see which direction each team has gone. Bradley gets their revenge at home and wins 90-79!!

College Basketball Picks 12/1/2007

December 1, 2007

One of the first major Saturdays of the Early College Basketball Season.  The Big 12 / Pac 10 challenge in effect. With USC battling Kansas, UCLA takes on Texas. Can Duke avoid the upset minded Davidson Wildcats?  A battle of two traditional programs in UNC and Kentucky battle at Kentucky! Mid majors take on the big boys in the Big Ten, as Butler Host Ohio St. and Indiana travels to Southern Illinois! I don’t know about you but I’m excited!

My picks are none of the above games I like to focus on smaller schools! So Here we go!

  +8 vs  @  Ole Miss

I’m going to take New Mexico +8, JR Giddens and Company with their balanced attack should hang in there and I wouldn’t be suprised with an outright win.

  -6.5 vs  No. Arizona

I’m going to lay the points and take W. Kentucky -6.5. I’m suprised this spread is not double digits.

    PK    @   Western Carolina

All I have to do is Win this game with no points involved. Coll of Char had five starters returning.

  -10 @  Loyola Marymount

UCSB will have to much firepower even on the road and post a big Victory laying the wood!

  +7.5 @ U. Nevada Las Vegas

This one scares me a little bit but this is a Miners team that played Texas A&M down to the wire at the Aggies home court and lost by 5. UNLV plays really good defense, but can’t hold anybody down in the 2nd half. I’ll take the points.

These are my 5 strongest plays! I will probably bet others but I like these five from the board!

Good Luck to all you bettors!

Mon. won with Davidson, & Murray St.

College Basketball Picks for 11/15/2007

November 15, 2007

Basketball is HERE!! My Favorite sport to Handicap! Remember I do it for fun! I don’t lay $2,000 on a game. I make straight bets of $55 per game that I like.I also make some small $20, $30, $40, and $50 2 teamer parlays.

I’m off to a 6-3 start so far.

11/9  – Umass -6 vs Cal Poly (W) & New Mexico -2 vs Colorado (W)

11/10 - Kent St. -4.5 vs Detroit (L) & Fresno St -14 vs Liberty (L) Bad Day

11/11 – Gonzaga -12.5 vs Montana (W)

11/12 - App St. +3 vs Charlotte (L) & Ark- Little Rock -1.5 vs Loyal Marymount (W)

11/14 – Rhode Island -6 vs Brown (W) & Wisc-Milk -2.5 vs Ball State (W) Lucky it weny OT!

 11/15 – Houston -1 vs VCU (L)

                Miami-FL. -7.5 vs Marist (W)

               Utah St. +3

                 App. St -8.5 (W)

My Favorite Conferences to bet on are the small school conferences such as:

Colonial - VCU, Hofstra, George Mason, Old Dominion, Drexel

Mtn. West- Utah, UNLV, BYU, New Mexico

Horizon – Butler, Wisc-GB, Wisc-Milk., Wright St.

Big West- UCSB, LBST, Pacific, Cal Poly

WAC – New Mexico St., Nevada, Fresno St., Utah St., Boise St.

Conf-USA – Memphis, Houston, UTEP, SMU, UAB

Don’t get me wrong the bigger conferences like the Big East, ACC, Big Ten, and Big 12  are fun to watch and most of the time are on TV, as opposed to the small schools i’m usually staring at a computer to see if my pick is winning.. The money is made on the smaller schools. If you can just study 2-3 conferences you can make some decent money.

*Reminder I’m not a Professional Gambler i do this for fun. Don’t go bet my picks and if you lose start thrashing me! LOL!!

I usual go to www.covers.com for a lot of info and scores on games. Very nice site for the bettor!

UFC 78 Validation

November 15, 2007

MAIN CARD

Michael Bisping vs. Rashad Evans

  • Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva
  • Joe Doerksen vs. Ed Herman
  • Ryo Chonan vs. Karo Parisyan
  • Frankie Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher

PRELIMINARY CARD

  • Thiago Alves vs. Chris Lytle
  • Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt
  • Marcus Aurelio vs. Luke Caudillo
  • Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory

My Prediction for the Main event is Evans by TKO!

But from a betting aspect of the fight I will NOT lay -280!

As an underdog bettor the only fights worthy of a bet, would be:

Ryo Chonan +250 vs Karo – Ryo is not called the Pirahana for nothing. He is on of the men to give A. Silva his last lost when they both fought in Pride. I’m not saying Karo will not win this fight but at +250 it’s worth a bet.

Frankie Edgar even vs Spencer Fisher – This fight has been looked at as expierence vs youth. Frankie Edgar reminds me a lot of Fisher but with better wrestling. One problem Fisher had was with Grapplers, when he fought Hermes Franca he was put on his back a lot. than he fought Sam stout a stiker he had the advantage. If Edgar takes him down I see him submitting Fisher, if this fight goes to the ground I see Fisher by TKO. This is why the odds are so close.

Maybe a small parlay on these underdogs.

Tamdan McCrory +215 vs Akihiro Gono

Chris Lytle +150 vs Thiago Alves

Joe Doerkson +120 vs Ed Herman

*I’m not a professional gambler this is just an opinion.
